Sweating syndrome:introduction of its pathological reasons,common syndromes and various syndromes.

Syndromes of Traditional Chinese Medicine. ✵Traditional Chinese medicine has been used for thousands of years. Through thousands of years of practice, it has been proved that Chinese medicine is effective and feasible in treating diseases, preventing diseases and maintaining health. The treatment of diseases with traditional Chinese medicine has saved countless lives. The treatment of diseases in traditional Chinese medicine is macro and comprehensive.

 The theoretical system of traditional Chinese medicine is derived from and guided by long-term clinical practice. Through the analysis of the phenomenon, the internal mechanism is explored. Therefore, this unique theoretical system of traditional Chinese medicine has two basic characteristics, one is the overall-concept, the other is the dialectical treatment.

Sweating syndrome.
Consumption syndrome.
 Sweating syndrome is a state characterized by abnormal sweating due to yin-yang disharmony or infirmity of the subcutaneous interstices and pores, and it is also known as hàn zhèng, or sweating disease (hàn bìng).

 Sweat is the fluid of the heart, which is blood inside and is sweat outside. Sweating syndrome is a kind of heart deficiency disease; sweating disease is exclusive to the heart; the root cause of sweating is both from the heart and the kidneys, and the deficiency of the five Zang-viscera all can lead to sweating.

 Ancient classical works Huang Di Nei Jing Su Wen (the Inner Canon:the Plain Questions) recorded that, "If you eat or drink too much, sweat comes from the stomach; if you are frightened (scared) and deprived of essence, sweat comes from the heart; if you travel with heavy loads, sweat comes from the kidneys; if you walk quickly and have fearsome, sweat comes from the liver; if you shake your body and suffer from excessive labor, sweat comes from the spleen; sweat comes out of the stomach when you have eaten too much."

 Internal reasons: the reasons of sweating syndrome vary, mainly are instability of defensive Qi, eliminating wetness from Ying blood, losing essence due to a frightening, carrying a heavy load on a long journey, walking quickly and fearsome, exhausted and hard-working, etc.

 External symptoms: symptoms of sweating syndrome vary, mainly are spontaneous sweating, aversion to cold, dryness-heat, drowsiness and somatic heaviness (heavy body), lowness of voice, headache and general fever, cough and noyance, stuffy nose and shed tears, fever and thirst, fidget and dirty complexion, vertigo and vomit (dizziness and throwing up), fullness sensation in chest and spitting phlegm, severe palpitation and trance, bitter taste and somnolence, afternoon fever and cough, lassitude and poor appetite, etc.

 In general, the sweating syndromes are mainly spontaneous sweating syndrome and night sweating, and sweating from diet and drink, Yin sweats, etc.These sweating syndromes are introduced.

 Spontaneous sweating syndromes are in various types, mainly including sweating syndromes from Qi deficiency of five Zang-viscera, excessive sweating syndromes, spontaneous sweating syndromes, head sweating (perspiration on the forehead), sweating of hands and feet (polyhidrosis of hands and feet), profuse sweating in the armpit, sweating of the scrotum, sweating of blood, yellow sweat, sweating of Yang depletion syndrome, etc. These sweating syndromes are introduced.

Sweating syndromes from Qi deficiency of five Zang-viscera:

 Ancient classical works Huang Di Nei Jing Su Wen (the Inner Canon: the Plain Questions) recorded that, "If you eat or drink too much, sweat comes from the stomach; if you are frightened (scared) and deprived of essence, sweat comes from the heart; if you travel with heavy loads, sweat comes from the kidneys; if you walk quickly and have fearsome, sweat comes from the liver; if you shake your body and suffer from excessive labor, sweat comes from the spleen; Sweat comes out of the stomach when you have eaten too much."

 Sweating from Qi deficiency of the lung viscera: if the lung is deficient, and the sweat comes out of the lung.

 Sweating from Qi deficiency of the heart viscera: if one thinks too much, there is a piece of sweating dampness at the chest, normally in a round shape, and sweat comes out from the heart; it is known as heart sweat, for worrying and frightening injure the heart.

 The heart yang is deficient, then injuries from the exterior and spontaneous sweating;

 Sweating from Qi deficiency of the stomach viscera: when the stomach is weak, and sweat comes out of the stomach.

 Sweating from Qi deficiency of the kidney viscera: pathogen is in the interior, and sweat comes out from the kidneys. The kidney Yin is deficient, then internal injuries and night sweating.

 Sweating from channels: pathogen is in the exterior, Cou Li (space between skin and muscles) is not closed, and sweat from the meridians and channels.

Excessive sweating syndromes:

 Excessive sweating due to drying of Ying blood: the Ying blood is exhausted; there is excessive sweating.

 Excessive sweating due to disorder in Qi circulation: Qi circulation is in disorder; one has excessive sweating surely;

 Excessive sweating due to relative excessiveness of yin and yang: relative excessiveness of Yin and Yang, one has excessive and profuse perspiration (polyhidrosis).

 Excessive sweating due to excessive Yin fire: Yin fire is excessive; one has excessive and profuse perspiration (hyperhidrosis).

 Excessive sweating due to expulsion of Yin Qi and defensive Qi: the defensive Qi is expulsed by Yin of Zang and Fu-viscera, floats and dissipates in the exterior, and has no place to return; one surely has excessive perspiration (polyhidrosis).

 Excessive sweating due to various deficiency and insufficiency: various deficiency and insufficiency, lean and emaciation, withering and thinning, frightened and scared, surely has excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).

 Excessive sweating due to Qi deficiency after disease: after disease, one has both deficiency of Qi and blood and surely has excessive sweating (polyhidrosis).

Spontaneous sweating syndromes:

 Spontaneous sweating is abnormal sweating in the daytime aggravated by mild exertion and unconnected with environmental factors; it is also known as spontaneous sweating syndromes (zì hàn).

 Spontaneous sweating from Yin deficiency: intrusion of Yang pathogen due to deficiency of Yin, so there is fever and spontaneous sweating.

 Spontaneous sweating from Yang deficiency: Yang insufficiency leads to invasion by Yin pathogens and thus leads to reverse cold in hands and feet, and spontaneous sweating.

 Spontaneous sweating from Qi deficiency and Yang weakness: Qi deficiency and weakness of Yang, lassitude and spontaneous sweating;

 Exhaustion of body fluids and sweating; the body fluids are exhausted and lead to spontaneous profuse perspiration;

 Sweat from phlegmatic abundance: phlegm is excessive, spontaneous sweating;

 Upward steaming of pathogenic fire meeting dampness: pathogenic fire steaming upward and meeting dampness, surely sweating.

 Sweating from exterior deficiency: deficiency in the exterior, spontaneous sweating is like a small river.

 Sweating from domination of damp pathogen: domination of damp pathogen, sweating comes out from muscle;

 Sweating after diet and drink from stomach heat: one has stomach heat and often sweats like raining after taking a diet;

 Sweating for being affected by wind during drinking wine: one drinks wine and is blowed by wind, aversion to wind and weak breath, sweating like a bath. The ancient classical works Nei Jing (the Inner Canon) recorded its syndrome name as lòu fēng (leakage of wind), its symptoms or profuse sweating, can not wear unlined clothes, sweating after taking food, in a severe case the body is fever and wheezing (gasping for breath), clothing is often moistened, dry mouth, often thirst, unable to bear the common work or exertion.

 The above ten syndromes are all syndromes of spontaneous sweating.

Head sweating.

 The forehead belongs to the heart; blood deficiency and excessive sweating on the forehead; if there is perspiration on the head, it returns at the neck; it is a blood syndrome; dampness pathogen combating with Yang will also cause sweating on the forehead; in the thoracic accumulation of fluid without severe heat will also observe sweating on the forehead;

 Yangming excess syndrome of the stomach will also sweat on the forehead. Yin deficiency and yang floating, so the sweat comes out on the head and neck, not the whole body; the ministerial fire forces the kidney water to circulate from other channels of the heart; there is yang losing its dependency and flying over the top; pathogenic cold conflicting with damp; accumulation of blood stasis in the interior;

 Among various syndromes of head sweating, there are obstinate syndrome and incurable syndrome.

Sweating of hands and feet (polyhidrosis of hands and feet).

 Sweating of hands and feet (polyhidrosis of hands and feet): there is sweating syndrome of hands and feet, the body fluid comes out to the exterior from the stomach viscera, and there is sweating on hands and feet; there is heat accumulation in the stomach viscera, fluid is forced to come out, it is a disease of Yangming; there is sweating on hands and feet, due to incompatibility of Yin and Yang;

Profuse sweating in the armpit.

 Profuse sweating in the armpit: there is sweating in two armpits, and sweating in the arch of the foot, could not get relieved for a long period, it is a spilling of pathogenic dampness and heat;

Sweating of scrotum.

 Sweating of scrotum: there is sweating on the scrotum due to kidney deficiency and decline of Yang (yang deficiency); there is sweating on the scrotum; later a boil grows out, very itchy and suffering, and it surely pains later; it is a spilling of pathogenic dampness and heat;

Sweating of blood.

 Sweating of blood: there is sweating of blood; sweating makes the clothes dirty; ancient classical works Nei Jing (the Inner Canon) recorded it as Miè Zhèng, as the heat affects the gallbladder viscera, blood flows randomly, and combine with Qi of hand Shaoyin, thus developing to this syndrome; there is exultation (extreme joy) and the heart is hurt, leading to dispersing of Qi, and developing to this syndrome; or there is sweating of blood in a woman who is in childbirth or shortly thereafter, mainly due to exhaustion and deficiency of Qi and blood;

Yellow sweat.

 Yellow sweat: there is yellow sweat syndrome, mainly due to taking a bath when there is perspiration, and dampness and heat are stagnating in the interior;

Sweating of Yang depletion syndrome:

 Sweating of Yang depletion syndrome: sweating is profuse and incessant (unstoppable), the Yang is collapsed and exhausted; it is known as Yang-depletion syndrome, surely cold in the body, mostly it develops to cold arthralgia, or spasm of limbs; or Yang deficiency and Yang depletion, cannot perspire; it is also known as Yang-depletion syndrome, surely leads to vertigo (dizziness) and shivering of the body;

Night sweating.

 Night sweating is a syndrome in which one is sweating in sleep and sweat gradually collects when waking up. Because of the emptiness of Yin qi, the defensive Qi takes advantage of the deficiency and falls into the Yin, the exterior has no protection; the fire in the Ying system (the nutritive system) turns exuberance solely on the outside, steaming heat and sweating, when one wakes up, the Qi starts to circulate around the exterior and sweat stops. This night sweating syndrome is mostly observed in persons with consumptive disease, and Yin Qi is hurt. Or after a serious illness, after a new birth of a woman, and night sweats for a long time and turns incessant; as a result, the Yang Qi also turns weak.

 The ancient classical works Nei Jing (the Inner Canon) recorded that "it is a disease of the kidney, sweating in sleeping, and aversion to the wind."

 Or there is night sweats due to hyperactivity of fire from Yin deficiency; or night sweats due to severe liver heat; or night sweats due to deficiency of both Qi and blood; or night sweats due to various deficiencies and insufficiencies, the disease in cases are all night sweats, but the reasons are different.

Sweating from diet and drink.

 Sweating from diet and drink: the sweating syndrome from diet and drink is because the healthy Qi (the normal Qi) is empty and deficient, and it is overpowered by the aggressive Qi of diet and drink, so one sweats after taking diet. It is not relieved after a long period; the heart Qi is exhausted, and one will suffer from consumptive thirst and hemiplegia.

Yin sweats.

 Yin sweats: the Yin sweat is also known as the syndrome of Yin sweating; it is mainly caused by excessive indulgence in drinking and sexsual activity, and one often sweats; or there is sweating and affected by wind due to sexual strain (exhaustion due to sexual indulgence), excessive and profuse perspiration (polyhidrosis) at the lower part of the body, unable to bear the common work or exertion;

Incurable syndromes:

 There are incurable syndromes of sweating, these sweating syndromes are incurable.
