Phthisis.
Phthisis: phthisis is a chronic consumptive disease, it is infectious or non-infectious, it is also known as láo zhài. The phthisis of man is from hurt of essence, and the phthisis of woman is from menostasia, the phthisis of a child is from the fetus. In general, it is a syndrome developed from consumptive disease, physical weakness, and an internal lesion of the heart and kidney caused by overexertion, the essence is exhausted and blood turns drying, decline of Qi and excess of fire, burning and turns chronic with the passing of time, and develops to phthisis.
Internal reasons: there are various reasons, constant indulgence, irregular time in daily life, the fire from seven emotions and six desires motivates in the center often, the improper diet and overtiredness hurt the body frequently, etc.
External symptoms: there are varied symptoms, night sweat in dreams, afternoon fever (hectic fever, fever after noon), fidget with cough (vexation or dysphoria and cough), tiredness and lacking strength, poor appetite (take very little food), phlegm and saliva has blood, spit out blood, skinny and emaciation.
Progress of the disease: The phthisis syndrome develops to a hectic fever due to yin deficiency and consumptive fever (over-strained fever).

Bone steaming: the bone steaming is also known as gǔ zhēng (bone steaming), it is mainly caused by Qi deficiency and could not transform blood, dryness of blood leads to excessive fire, needling and prickling internally, heat in bones and restless pain, or dysphoria in chestpalms-soles (dysphoria with smothery sensation in cores of hands and feet, and the heart), burning and heat in both sides of the chest (flanks), or slightly aversion to cold in daytime, and contrary (to expectations) fever at night, develops and transmission with various symptoms, pant and cough, bloody phlegm, parched lips, black tongue, tinnitus (ringing in the ear), giddiness, wet dream (nocturnal emission), stranguria with turbid discharge, have diarrhea (have loose bowels), low back pain, feet ache (ache of feet), abdominal distension, hypochondriac pain, general lassitude (lassitude of arms and legs), etc.
Progress of disease: the bone steaming develops and transmits; for men, it transmits from the kidney to the heart, lungs, liver and spleen, for women, it transmits from the heart to the lungs, liver, spleen and kidney.

Phthisis of bone steaming: the accumulated heat attaches to the bone, and thus it is known as phthisis of bone steaming, also known as gǔ zhēng láo (phthisis of bone steaming), chuán shī, yè tì, fù lián. Phthisis of blood wind: the phthisis of blood wind is also known as xuě fēng láo (phthisis of blood wind), mainly due to past deficiency of Qi and blood, or internal lesion caused by overexertion after childbirth, and affection of exogenous pathogen, or there is old coldness in the interior, as a result, ache and pain in the abdomen, aching and tiredness of arms and legs, fever and spontaneous perspiration, and woman menoxenia (irregular menstruation), emaciation with sallow complexion (complexion is sallow yellow, very thin and weak).
