"The liver Qi is deficient, one has dreams of mushrooms and grasses, the liver Qi is in excess, one has dreams of sleeping under a tree and dares not stand up.
The heart Qi is deficient, one has dreams of saving fire and things of Yang, the heart Qi is excess, one has dreams of fire burning and cauterizing.
The spleen Qi is deficient, one has dreams of lacking diet and drink, the heart Qi is excess, one has dreams of constructing walls and building a house.
The lung Qi is deficient, one has dreams of white things, the lung Qi is excess, one has dreams of soldiers fighting.
The kidney Qi is deficient, one has dreams of boat and ship sinking in water, the kidney Qi is excess, one has dreams of hiding in water, as if there is something to fear."

The ancient classical works Ling Shu (the Spiritual Pivot or Divine Axis) states:"the Yin Qi turns excessive, one has dreams of walking in big river and has fearsome, the Yang Qi turns excessive, one has dreams of big fire burning, the Yin Qi and Yang Qi are both excessive, one has dreams of killing each other, the upper is excessive, one has dreams of flying, the lower is excessive, one has dreams of falling, one is starving and has dreams of taking, one is very full and has dreams of giving, the liver Qi is sufficient and one has dream of anger, the lung Qi is sufficient and one has dream of crying and tearing, the heart Qi is sufficient and one has dreams of laughing and fearing, the spleen Qi is sufficient and one has dreams of singing songs and body could not lift, the kidney Qi is sufficient and one has dreams of uncomfortableness in waist and back."
The disease of ethereal soul and corporeal soul: Zhongjing said, pathogenic factors lead to uneasiness of ethereal soul and corporeal soul, for the reason lacking of blood and Qi. The lacking of blood and Qi belongs to the heart, the deficiency of heart Qi leads to fearsome, closes eyes and wants to sleep, dreams of walking to far place, separation of essence and spirit, ethereal soul and corporeal soul walk randomly.
