 ✵Exterior-effusing herbs: synonym for exterior-releasing herb.

 ✵Wind-cold dispersing herbs:  an agent or substance that has the effect of dispersing wind and cold in the treatment of an exterior syndrome.

 ✵Wind-heat dispersing herbs:  an agent or substance herb that has the effect of dispersing wind and heat in the treatment of an exterior syndrome.

 ✵Pungent-warm exterior-releasing herbs:  an agent or substance herb pungent in flavor and warm in property, which is usually used for treating a wind-cold exterior syndrome.

 ✵Pungent-cool exterior-releasing herbs:  an agent or substance herb pungent in flavor and cool in property, such as Herba Menthae or Flos Chrysanthemi, which is usually used for treating a wind-heat exterior syndrome.

 ✵Heat-clearing herbs: an agent or substance herb cold or cool in property, which has the effect of clearing up internal heat in cases of externally contracted febrile diseases with high fever and dire thirst, damp-heat dysentery, eruptive epidemic warm diseases, boils, sores and abscess, or fever in cases of Yin deficiency.
