Folium Isatidis(Dyers Woad Leaf).

 Folium Isatidis Brief Introduction: The herb Folium Isatidis is the dried leaf of Isatis indigotica Fort.(family Cruciferae), used to clear heat, counteract toxins and cool the blood for treating warm diseases at the nutrient and blood stages with eruption, and also for mumps, painful swollen throat and erysipelas. The herb is commonly known as Folium Isatidis, Dyers Woad Leaf, Dà Qīnɡ Yè.

 ✵The herb Folium Isatidis(Dyers Woad Leaf) is the dried leaf of (1). Isatis indigotica Fort., it is a plant of the Isatis genus, the Brassicaceae family of the Brassicales order. This commonly used species is introduced as:

 Isatis tinctoria L. (1).Isatis tinctoria L.: The Isatis tinctoria L. is a plant of the Cruciferae family and Isatis genus, commonly known as "Song Lan", biennial herb. Main root deep, diameter 5~8 mm, skin gray-yellow. Stem erect, high 40~90 cm. Leaves alternate; basal leaves larger, with handles, leaves oblong-elliptic; cauline leaves oblong to oblong-oblanceolate, lower leaves larger, gradually smaller, 3.5~11 cm long, 0.5~3 cm wide, apex obtuse, base arrow-shaped, semi-bivalve, entire or not obvious serrated. Calyx racemes: flowers small, 3~4 mm in diam., Adaxially, slender; calyx 4, green; petals 4, yellow, obovate; 6 stamens, 4 strong; 1 pistil, oblong. Siliques oblong, winged, with midrib. 1 seed. It is flowering in May, fruiting in June.

 Isatis indigotica Fort. The Isatis indigotica Fort., is a plant of the Cruciferae family and Isatis genus, commonly known as "Cao Da Qing", it has small differences from the Isatis tinctoria L. the difference is that the leaf base of this species is auriculae, obtuse and concave top fruit, or full truncated. Flowering in May. Fruit in June.

 Ecological environment: It grows in the field water edge, mostly for cultivation. It is distributed in the Zhujiang river area, Yangtze river area, southwest, northwest of China and other areas.
