Bulbus Lilii(Lily Bulb).

 Lilum brownii Brief Introduction: The herb Bulbus Lilii is the dried scale leaf of the bulb of Lilium lancifolium Thunb., Lilum brownii F.E.Brown var.viridulum Baker or Lilium pumilum DC.(family Liliaceae), used (1).to nourish the lung Yin and arrest cough in cases of consumptive diseases, and (2).to clear the heart and induce tranquilization for insomnia and fidgetiness in the late stage of febrile diseases with residual heat. The herb is commonly known as Bulbus Lilii, Lily Bulb, Bǎi Hé.

 ✵The herb Bulbus Lilii(Lily Bulb) is the dried scale leaf of Lilium lancifolium Thunb., Lilum brownii F.E.Brown var.viridulum Baker or Lilium pumilum DC., they are plants of the Lilium L. genus, the Liliaceae(lily family) family of the Liliales order.

 Lilium lancifolium Thunb. (1).Lilium lancifolium Thunb.: The Lilium lancifolium Thunb., is a plant of the Liliaceae(lily family) family and Lilium L genus, it is commonly known as "Lilium lancifolium", "Lilium tigrinum", "devil lily", "easter lily", "tiger lily", or "Juan Dan", bulbs broadly spherical, ca. 3.5 cm tall, 4~8 cm in diameter; scales broadly ovate, 2.5~3 cm long, 1.4~2.5 cm wide, white. Stems 0.8~1.5 m high, with purple stripes and white wool. Leaves scattered, oblong-lanceolate or lanceolate, 6.5~9 cm long, 1~1.8 cm wide, both surfaces nearly glabrous, white hairs at the apex, papillary protrusions at the edges, 5~7 veins, upper leaf blade There are buds. Flowers 3~6 or more; sepals leaflike, ovate-lanceolate, 1.5~2 cm long, 2~5 mm wide, apex obtuse, white wools; pedicels 6.5~9 cm long, purple, with white cotton Hair drooping, tepals lanceolate, revolute, orange-red, with purple-black spots; outer tepals 6~10 cm long, 1~2 cm wide; inner tepals slightly wider, nectaries on both sides Papillary, with fimbriate projections; stamens spreading all around; filaments 5~7 cm long, reddish, glabrous, anthers oblong, ca. 2 cm; ovary cylindric, 1.5~2 cm long, width 2~3 mm; styles 4.5~6.5 cm long, stigma slightly inflated, 3-lobed.  Lilium pumilum DC. (3).Lilium pumilum DC.: The Lilium pumilum DC., is a plant of the Liliaceae(lily family) family and Lilium L genus, it is commonly known as "Lilium pumilum", "Thin-leaf Lilium", "Shan Dan Bai He", Bulbs ovate or conical, 2.5~4.5 cm tall, 2~3 cm in diameter; scales oblong or long ovate, 2~3.5 cm long, 1~1.5 cm wide, white. Stem height 15~60 cm, with small papillary protrusions, and some with purple stripes. Leaves scattered in the middle of the stem, bar-shaped, 3.5~9 cm long, 1.5~3 mm wide, prominent under the midrib, the edge of a papillary protrusion. Flowers solitary or several racemes, bright red, usually spotless, sometimes with few spots, pendulous; tepals rewinded, 4~4.5 cm long, 0.8~1.1 cm wide, nipples on both sides Prominence; filaments 1.2~2.5 cm long, glabrous, anthers long oblong, ca. 1 cm long, yellow, pollen nearly red; ovary cylindrical, 0.8~1 cm long; style slightly longer than ovary or more than 1 × 1.2~1.6 cm long, stigma inflated, 5 mm in diameter, 3-lobed. The capsule is oblong and is 2 cm long and 1.2~1.8 cm wide. The plant is flowering from July to August, fruiting from September to October.
