Botanical source: The herb Bulbus Fritillarie Ussuriensis(Ussuri Fritillary Bulb) is the dried bulb of Fritillaria ussuriensis Maxim., it is a plant of Fritillaria L. genus, the Liliaceae family of the Liliales order. It is also known as Bulbus Fritillariae Ussuriensis or Pínɡ Bèi Mǔ.

(1).Fritillaria ussuriensis Maxim.: Botanical description: Herbs, 40~60 cm tall. Bulbs 1~1.4 cm thick, consisting of 2 thick scaly valves, with a few small bulbs around. Stem base above with leaves, impeller or opposite, middle above with a few scattered; Leaves striate, 9~15 cm long, 2~6 cm wide, apex uncurly or slightly curly. 1~3 flowers, terminal, pendulous, purple with yellow squares; Flowers apically with 4~6 leaflike bracts, striate bracts' apex extremely curly; Perianth bell-shaped; 6 tepals, oblong-obovate, obtuse, nectary above base; 6 stamens, about 3/5 as long as tepals; Style papillary; Stigma 3 deeply lobed. Capsule broadly obovate, with rounded ribs. Its flowering period is from May to June.
